Shiftstack Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 14, 2026

This policy explains how Sloth Bloom handles information when you use Shiftstack on Android.

Information stored on your device

Shiftstack stores game settings, high scores, gameplay statistics, streaks, earned Shards, purchased or unlocked cosmetic palettes, consumables, achievement progress, a selected preset duel callsign, saved replays, and other game progression locally on your device. Solo progression is not uploaded to a Sloth Bloom server unless you deliberately share a replay. You can remove local information by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app.

Online duels, rankings, and Firebase

If you choose an online feature, Shiftstack uses Google Firebase Authentication to create a persistent anonymous identifier and Google Cloud Firestore to provide that feature. A duel or ranking record can contain anonymous player identifiers, preset callsigns, match codes, shared random seeds, matchmaking type, scores, cleared-line totals, game-over state, match status, rating, wins, losses, public ranking, creation time, and an expiry time used for retention management. This information is used to create, join, synchronize, rate, secure, and conclude matches and show ranked results. It is not used for advertising profiles.

If you deliberately share a replay, Shiftstack uploads the replay event data needed to reproduce the run, its mode and score, an anonymous owner identifier, a share code, creation time, and an expiry time. Anyone with the share code may be able to view the shared replay until it is removed or expires. Do not share a code with someone you do not want to view it.

Clearing app data or uninstalling removes the local anonymous session but does not automatically delete previously uploaded records. You may request deletion as described below. Firebase handles service and security information under Google's Privacy Policy.

Google Play Games Services

If Google Play Games authentication is available, Shiftstack uses Google Play Games Services to submit leaderboard scores and unlock achievements. Google may process your Play Games profile, player identifier, scores, achievements, device information, and service activity under Google's Privacy Policy. Shiftstack does not use Play Games Services as a separate in-game account system and does not receive your Google password.

Advertising and rewards

Shiftstack uses Google AdMob to show an adaptive banner on the home screen and an optional rewarded ad in the Shop. Ads are not shown during active gameplay. If you voluntarily complete a rewarded ad, the reward is added to your local Shards balance. AdMob may process device identifiers, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, ad interactions, diagnostics, and consent choices to provide, measure, secure, and personalize or limit ads as permitted. See How Google uses information for advertising.

Consent and privacy choices

Shiftstack uses Google's User Messaging Platform to request and remember advertising privacy choices where required. You can reopen available controls from Settings → Privacy Choices. Your device and Google account also provide advertising and Play Games privacy controls.

Permissions and information not requested

Shiftstack uses internet access for Play Games and advertising and may use vibration for gameplay feedback. The app does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, precise location, photos, or files. Sloth Bloom does not sell personal information.

Retention, security, and deletion

Local game information remains until you clear app storage or uninstall Shiftstack. Online duel and replay records may remain in Firestore for service operation, abuse prevention, support, and retention cleanup until removed, expired, or deleted in response to a valid request. Information handled independently by Google is retained and deletable according to Google's policies and the controls available in Google Play Games, your Google Account, and your device.

To request deletion of Firebase records associated with your anonymous player, open Settings → Copy Online Player ID in Shiftstack, then email that ID to support@slothbloom.com. If the app reports that no ID exists, it has not created an online identity on that installation. Reasonable safeguards are used, but no system can guarantee absolute security.

Children

Shiftstack is a general-audience puzzle game and is not directed specifically to children under 13. If the app's intended audience or advertising configuration changes, this policy and the relevant store declarations will be updated before release.

Changes and contact

Material changes will be posted here with a revised effective date. Privacy questions may be sent to support@slothbloom.com.
